Virtual Reality is BY FAR the biggest delta I've ever seen between what it looks like from the outside vs what it feels like on the inside.

Optomistic Thought
Dan Cui's Keynote (Chief Marketing Officer, eMagin Corp) at AWE Asia on Sunday is the beginning of a Fall P/R Offensive. Pry a few of the right craniums open and eMagin's contention that OLED microdisplays are the key component in the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Near Eye Displays of the future could begin to transform our endless traverse on the Devil's Treadmill to a walk in the park. Fingers crossed.

Bingo, gold star for Palmer
The opposite would be bad. If people are underwhelmed by VR when they try it, price cuts won't change their mind.
— Palmer Luckey (@PalmerLuckey) October 15, 2015
Yes, a cheap HMD that makes users sick will turn people away in droves as it has begun to do
1st gen headsets are tasked with convincing the world that it wants VR. Many people will wait a gen or two to adopt, and that is okay.
— Palmer Luckey (@PalmerLuckey) October 15, 2015
What? He's starting to make sense...
Everyone will want VR long before everyone can afford VR. It is going to be expensive at first, but the cost will drop over time.

Where is the Microdisplay Market Headed? (Ridiculous, Microoled is the only OLED Microdisplay Company and they pioneered their use in Defense and Aerospace, no mention of eMagin)
http://electronicdesign.com/displays/where-microdisplay-market-headed
Marinkovic also discusses which HMDs the company is focussed on: “So at this point, HTC and Oculus are getting the most visibility in the market, but obviously we are evaluating other solutions and engaging with other partners that are appropriate and helping them get to market. In terms of Oculus and HTC, they are coming to market sooner. We are working with Star VR as well, for the Walking Dead, and a number of other companies.”
