Rumors keep mounting as Apple invests more into next-gen MicroLED screen technology

http://bgr.com/2018/04/05/apple-watch-updates-2018-microled-screen/

Coveman, Vince, Sweetmummer,How do you KNOW eMagin is working on Micro-led with Apple?

You need an Editor, "No More Hopin' for Kopin" sounds like HOPELESS to most ears! ("picked up your piece", what an ego)

One more will make it a trend...eMagin at Display Week has a Meeting Room next to Synaptics, 3M, Corning...eMagin at Defexpo India is in a small group of American Fortune 500 Companies, Boeing, Lockheed, Harris, Wesco

why do they rate?

C'Mon DZ you're not fooling anybody with the Tailhook Research thing. It's a vanity press, pay to publish, ain't it?

Good Timing...

The astronaut with the fuzzy space critters at he debut might have been a tell...(yes, looks like the investors have been zuckerberged)

JC did not think much of ML and neither does Charlie (very melodramatic Charlie but the reviews are coming in and they are not good, yeah, looking like a kaleidoscopic novelty device)

Ah, Boeing is attending India Defexpo too with Upgraded Apache's in the Pipeline. (eMagin Inside Helmet Upgrade)

Tonbo is not listed, eMagin is in the "Partnership Pavillon" so enabling these perhaps...

Harris (Night Vision) and Lockheed (Avionics)

India, can't remember the last time emagin was announced as a participant in a Defense Trade Show. Partnership, Tonbo? Guess, it's sort of a big deal...

eMagin Inside State-of-the-Art A/R HMDs

OTOH $$$ Talks..Magic Leap: Why investors keep backing the augmented reality start-up

http://www.afr.com/technology/no-revenue-no-worries-why-investors-keep-backing-magic-leap-20180308-h0x8ns

Connectivity Even if Magic Leap’s goggles suck, it can probably still make money off them (MIT took this down overnight, not fawning enough? warts revealed?)

Is this kind of editorializing unusual in a patent?

There is great interest in developing an OLED microdisplay panel that has high resolution and is 1.4 or more inches in size for supporting the needs of virtual reality (VR) headsets.

Mort?

This is the "One that will Rule them All" correct? The one CEO Sculley attached his name too. Is it pro forma that the Patent is granted as it's been 18 months since the day of publication?

good find Nano

The pixel array has a resolution of at least 2,000 pixels per inch. The OLED display device has a panel size of at least 35 mm per side. The pixel array includes an offset OLED emitter array patterned over a stitched silicon pixel array.

All I have is circumstantial evidence Chouffe

Roy Taylor has mentioned working on a VR headset with eMagin. JC's Carollo "Steampunk" 2kx2k has been on slides Taylor used at presentations. He is now with BAFTA promoting films but has a much lower public profile. Adam Li the former CEO of Immerex is now a Fellow at AMD. LUCI Immers is aimed at 4k media content and I think secondarily VR content. Immerex/LUCI was one of the 4 "Specified Investors" in the Red Herring Prospectus. They praise it's immersive quality. "Like looking through a window instead at a screen". I have heard this language from others. No hard evidence. It's compelling to me.

And he got a hold of a couple of eMagin WUXGA Displays!

Mr. Turner, Duct Tape is your Friend...

Chums

Strictly speaking this is Libel not Slander, Friend of Derrick Zieler

Looks like KSA is liberalizing for real, western dress in Silicon Valley, other question is he being zuckerberged by Abovitz?

and on... IOD= Immersion on Demand

I've had one run-in with Andrew Sculley eMagin's CEO at a Soldier Tech Conference. As soon as he figured out, actually I told him, actually both happened simultaneously, that I was a shareholder

he turned and fled not saying a word. I understand that. You, on the other hand, had your Seeking Alpha Pro Deal which highlighted inside company info, you get invited to HQ, you have exclusive interviews with Kopin's CEO, everything you put on Twitter gets hearts from Company insiders, retweets from company insiders. It's obvious you like being seen as an insider, you enjoy the flattery, you meet strategic allies, invited to company events. I find this peculiar. You have no information on your Wearables Era blog but your Twitter feed. Plenty of room there. How about a history of your relationship with Kopin and Fan? I guarantee folks would read it. I know I would.

Derrick, if you could take a break from your Bromance with Fan, could you comment...

In particular, expanding the Committee’s oversight of joint ventures and noncontrolling investments is important. We should do more to identify and prevent deals that truly threaten our nation’s strategic industries, but our goal should not be to cut off Chinese investment in U.S. companies.

As an Expectant World Watches a new Cult of Personality Emerges in of All Places Westborough Massachusetts! Thank You Derrick for This Great Gift!

Truly visionary entrepreneurs inspire their teams to disrupt markets over and over again. It’s not luck, it’s a process. A business model. Gates did it. Jobs did it. John Fan appears to be doing it. is about to deliver it’s second market-making disruption...HBT Redux :-)

and this gem from Kopin's 10k, fait accompli? "we cannot be certain that we have not violated applicable laws or regs in the past". Confidence inspiring, no...

Any failure on our part to obtain any required licenses for the export of technical data and/or export of our products or to otherwise comply with ITAR, could subject us to significant future liabilities. In addition, we cannot be certain that we have not in the past violated applicable laws or regulations, which violations could result in required remediation or other liabilities."

It's the US Gov, of course they could be unaware

This is the path Realwear and Kopin seem to be taking and there appears to be no effort on their part to disguise the source,...thin ice I think, does Congress think the company that sold the displays to Lockheed that is/was used in the F-35 a sensitive technology to transfer to China? And now will design OLED displays in the US and allow State-Owned BOE access to that technology? Who knows? Perhaps they are unaware...

The DIUx report recommends that we look at ways to restrict Chinese investment in U.S. technology companies, particularly those with potential military applications. This is unlikely to work – it is easier to disguise the source of investment capital than to investigate it – and will not stop China from acquiring our technology through its other tech transfer strategies. Such an effort could also quickly become impossibly broad. Thousands of entrepreneurs seek capital in the U.S. each year to build businesses in AI, AR and VR, robotics, and IoT devices, and attempting to anticipate all those technologies which might one day have military applications is impractical, if not impossible. Furthermore, if anything, restricting China’s access to U.S. technologies through investment could cause them to redouble their efforts to acquire our technology through more damaging means like industrial espionage and cyber theft, and to invest more of their money in domestic innovation.
In particular, expanding the Committee’s oversight of joint ventures and noncontrolling investments is important. We should do more to identify and prevent deals that truly threaten our nation’s strategic industries, but our goal should not be to cut off Chinese investment in U.S. companies.

LUCI Tweet Storm Rolls On...

They sure can dish it out but....(emotionally fragile, not shocked)

Bullish
$KOPN owns your retirement if you so choose. Anyone who talks shit about them over $EMAN is lost. Dilutional obsolete dumb idiotic thick!!!

The program goals and needs are different across the services, Navy, USMC and Air Force. Maybe this is why Dede pressed on the point. Was eMagin CEO sure that Lockheed and the DOD were on board with the changes surrounding the F-35 Helmet? Decentralizing the decision making around the program down to the particular branches makes eminent sense.

This does not represent a downgrade or confusion as to the direction of program, makes it more manageable over time. Could not figure out why he was stuck on that point. Sculley only answered anecdotally but we know we've seen the film. It was weird. While I'm at it. Why did Sculley use the term "tainted" when talking about VR's future as in "We have been tainted by the Tier One's reaction to the VR market and they have never been so excited." "Tainted" like spoiled milk, made no sense. Grammar Police I am.

https://www.defensenews.com/air/2018/04/03/pentagon-formulating-plan-to-move-f-35-management-from-central-office-to-services/

The HMDs in RPO look pretty much like this. See-through in the movie in order to see the facial reactions of the actors...

Having seen RPO the message is not quite "Oasis" as a preferred reality but useful in that time spent "there" will make you want to spend more time in Mr. Hollyway's "Real Reality."

Spielberg's VR a little like sensory deprivation. When ascending from time beneath the Earth, caving, when arriving at the surface your vision, hearing, everything around you seems to convey a sense of wonder.VR is portrayed not as darkly as Robots in A.I. (the misanthrope Stanley Kubrick, Spielberg's mentor, was the guiding force behind A.I.) but it is a cautionary tale. Will it sell headsets, maybe, maybe not. It will do for VR what Minority Report or Ironman did for AR. The best sequences IMO were those in VR where the "Oasis" were indistinguishable from reality i.e. the scenes from The Shining in and around the Overlook Hotel. The Palmer Luckey ideal that people want to "live" in VR in an eternal hunt for Easter Eggs amid archaic reminders of popular culture will be for those already living on the fringes.

What are these guys doing with MRA and eMagin OLED Displays?

Wonder what these guys are doing with eMagin OLED Display?

https://www.argo.ai/

Seems helpful to look into these MRA clients, Voptica for example uses an eMagin WUXGA display in their Test Stimulus optics

http://voptica.com/product/

Look at Travers

"Can we get a picture of you guys holding your personally inscribed Kopin Kakes." "Do you have too?" "And don't forget to pick-up your John Fan Action Figure as you leave."

Intel too at MRA

Aren't you embarrassed? That is not replying, that is trolling...

LUCI/Immerx was a "Specified Investor" named in eMagin's "Red Herring" Prospectus

I'm afraid it's left to you to tell the "story" as in fairy tale

DZ, looks like there's one bot agrees with your hypothesis that Boston will be the Wearables Capital of the World because Fan lives there

you are losing it

Oculus is a client (eMagin displays only)

small columbia md shop, very impressive client list and they only design for eMagin OLED displays...hmm

Ready Player BOOM!

Espionage

Night Vision Technology:
After the Vietnam War, the United States military decided that it would invest heavily in an effort to “own the night.”  This led to major advances in night vision technology, including equipment that allowed individual soldiers, armored vehicles, and aircraft to see and fight in the dark. This equipment has given the US a huge advantage in several conflicts since the 1980s.
China is seeking to end this advantage, and has geared some of its espionage efforts towards acqu   iring and replicating US tech in this area.  This has included some cyber-theft, but also several old-style ops in which Chinese businessmen illegally acquired export-controlled tech from US companies.

DZ, FYI, the combat theater and training network they describe, ENVG-B, JETS, HUDs 1.0- 3.0, LDRIII, this sensor fusion is only accomplished w eMagin (Made in USA) AMOLED

They put the AR in Army (Right here DZ to see why you have no future in US Mil)

Zieler, even for you this is esoteric goobledegook, you never post one jot that indicates you have any knowledge of Milspec needs, now you're an expert...when it gets this loony I think you must be Bringithome and e_i_b

Dr. Skip and his pals like it...

LOL! I read that differently than you intended , DZ...

doesn't Kopin have an office dedicated to clever names, headlines etc?  Rhyming Kopin and Hopin' not good. Beyond that clumsy device it sounds like you are givin' up on Kopin. How bout "I'm dopin' with Kopin."
"No more mopin' with Kopin". "I'm copin' with Kopin." Try again.
