The criticism of eMagin as subsidizing the US Dept of Defense always did bite a little. It's clear that shareholders wanted a clearer path to the consumer or a more relatable use . The RFI and the opportunity to become the sole provider for the Military is their way to throw us a lifeline. The military thinks about expediency and realize that eMagin is struggling to produce the displays they need, 20 + Programs of Record. So there is an element of "they owe us" and to secure the Industrial base as outlined in the RFI they will make sure that eMagin survives and thrives. We are the only show in town. Beyond that, Frank's Theory that this sort of ham-handedness on the Manufacturing is a way, was a way to get Uncle Sam's attention and it's working.
