Long, Informative, somewhat dour look at the Army's deficiencies in small unit maneuver. Somewhat too dour. How much training is available for unusual conditions i.e., subterranean fighting below large Urban areas. Fighting in the dark, room clearing, rapid target acquisition, close combat tactics & mission rehearsal CFT finds the solution in IVAS. The last stage at Drum is the Squad X exercise. Question, has anybody ever been inside Ft. Drum? Are there caves there? I assumed the LUE was to gauge the systems ability in rough terrain. Rappelling down cliffs at night sort of thing. Maybe it's caves.
yes, there are caves at Ft. Drum. This is a crucial technology.
