A few are familiar with eMagin's Core Business. The rest for years have strained to get by it, ignore it, anticipating a particular use that appeals to them. You know Bird Watching, Personal Computing, Gaming that sort of thing.

eMagin can't meet those markets now. The reason eMagin gained a foothold in the Military was that they provided essential benefits that make those applications run effectively. In the case of Night Vision Size, Weight and Power, then digital, then pixel size etc. F-35, same, FWS, same etc. The displays are pricey but their chief customer has a Printing Press that runs 24-7. They do not mind paying for now. The last hurdle on the Military side that must be overcome is Cost. They got Size, Weight and Power but until they can get the cost down the technology will not proliferate through the sectors you guys find interesting. The most important  threads running through eMagin's Life Story was and is the Mantech Award and The NAVAIR Award and present relationship. The DPA Title III intends to make the cost and products available to the military as needed and supply the broader marketplace with the same opportunity. The DPA within a year JL says, small quantities to prosumer, medical, industry in the meantime. Not to say they might not be establishing a line elsewhere for volume manufacturing but that is unknown at this time.
My hope was, as before, that the Military Business would provide the same kind of return it did in the Salad Days before Sequestration. It sucks now but it still could. But the whining about the lack of progress on the Consumer side is like "Oh no I have to take my Unicorn to the Veterinarian. Honey can you the Flying Car out of the hangar?". Drill down, get real.
