All of a sudden Chouffe's "Theory of Dark Forces" makes more sense. ML approached ODG as a angel and left with their Intellectual Property leaving ODG staff without anything to show for their efforts.

Inability to get finished products out the door contributed to their demise. An offer from a Chinese company fell through. ML was there to "rescue" the company. I think ML felt ODGs close association with the military would help them get a foothold. Even then  IVAS must have been germinating in General Gervais' and others minds. ENVG-B by then was deep in development. So, two companies saw ODG as the entry into the Military Market, Microsoft and Magic Leap. I don't think Microsoft was fighting for survival but I do think ML was so the gloves were off.
If some have, the estimable Karl Gutag among them, contended eMagin's displays were being used in the the ODG glasses there must have be something like a target on their back. Dark Forces. Microsoft got a head start by acquiring Ralph's IP early on.Their development plans for IVAS must have had more time to take shape. Discounting Rony A's bluster this was a no-brainer.  Microsoft and the DOD have a history. ML not so much. Meanwhile a ML engineer leaves ML for Nreal and those are being touted as the current state-of-the-art, problem Nreal reversed engineered Magic leap and are using what they learned in their glasses. Lawsuit. Sure as shooting ML's work with PEO would have gotten to you-know-where. All going back to Ralph and Wars, Boys, SEALS and Toys.
