Starting to think Oculus/Facebook is the"sponsoring company". eMagin mentioned in Half-Dome patent, Oculus mentioned twice on CC's. Once Sculley about drawbacks of phone sized displays and once Campbell talking about the SSQ testing they did with College students in Bellevue. Carmack has known of them for a long time, Tweeted positively. eMagin mentioned in their "Vari-focal" patent as the high res display for the foveated rendering. Oculus has a big investment in VR and apparently Zuck wants to get aggressive with it. Lax is the VR/AR chief at Facebook.
