Ahem...

Microsoft has an opening for a Compliance Officer. Not trying to aggravate any sensitive souls. It doesn't make any sense that a company that has never made anything that requires the oversight of the  State Department Regs under ITAR and EAR or placed any device on the United State Munitions List  is being given the role of developing a device that includes Night Vision, Thermal Imaging, a component that conforms to Military Specifications for Temperature Range, impermeability, MILSPEC for Operational Effectiveness etc, and has been through exactly ONE Evaluation and Integration Test and washed out,has no military liaison, has never devloped device that has ever seen combat and is somehow going to find itself in what looks like a very closely held program. eMagin is in over TWENTY Programs of Record, fully qualified, fully funded for the life of the Program.
Why would the DOD simply ruggedize a Hololens 2.0 when anybody could buy one and get a head start on developing their own? It's already up in the air whether Kopin had in place the proper safeguards. Their distance from the Department of Defense has been swiftly widening. And the most closely guarded technologies in the Program Executives Portfolio is Night Vision. There will no NV in Hololens 2.0. It apparently has speckle and a narrow FOV which is why it got booted in the first place. Arena does eMagin's Compliance who does Microvision's?
