I know there are folks here who don't give a sh*t about the military and the defense application thereof. But, like it or not, that arc of development has always been eMagin's Ace-in-the-Hole.

In a competitive sense it gave them the ability with partners to develop and monetize the displays they would have otherwise never been able to develop. So Sony people; Japan has a law that restricts the export of any hardware that transit to nations which could be used in an armed conflict. Japan's ITAR/EAR but much stricter, an outgrowth of Japan's WWII experience. The difficulty there is that military use is a great spur to innovation. Look how fast ENVG, IVAS, are being prototyped and fielded. Without that spur eMagin would be duking it out with Sony and probably knocked out long ago. They are being nurtured slowly, very slowly as in slow motion by those that need this technology. DPA will be the payback and I do my best to ignore the Soap Opera until that happens.
Charlie Fink, first military, then enterprise, then consumer.  Sculley: "we need the DPA."
