In discussing the Consumer Night Vision Torch Jeff said that had a surplus of displays intended for Torch (096 1280x1024) available after the write-down so there is Inventory available now to sell into two different programs for $$$.
Point of personal privilege. I went to Harrisburg to check Consumer NV out when they were demoing it at the Outdoor Sale. It was a Dog and Pony Show but I was able to have an interesting conversation with the Chairman of the Board.
Anyway it was obvious they were not putting a lot of resources into the Torch but for some reason made a lot of displays in "anticipation" of it catching on with the consumer. (wink, wink)
My contention soon afterwards was that Torch was a shiny object to develop Digital and Binocular NVGs on the sly. My sense is that it was a primitive early prototype of what we see in the new ENVG-B and IMO will see in IVAS down the road. Get it out into the field and obtain some reaction maybe military included.
When Jeff said eMagin had two entities they are talking too about 096, ENVG-B was obvious as one of the entities as the timeline dove-tailed nicely with the rollout and the historical record. ENVG is part of the suite w/ Rapid Target Acquisition in the FWS, they go together like horse and carriage. Seems to me fairly obvious the two buyers in question are L3 Warrior Systems for ENVG-B and BAE for FWS-I. Objectives and Achievements in the link below. Mantech gave eMagin anAward as AS likes to remind us. Cheers.
