There is a lot of Simulation Training in the works for pilots and others to counteract shortages of that skill and others world-wide...(another writer has the sense that IVAS is an outgrowth of ENVG-B)

USA -IVAS. The US Army is developing the Integrated Visual AugmentationSystem(IVAS). This is a head-up display (HUD) system that can be used for training and also on the battlefield itself. The US Army Soldier Lethality Cross-Functional Team (SLCFT) identified technology similar to that used by the Navy and Air Force for pilot training. IVAS adds simulated images to the view of the real world and can therefore be classified as Augmented Reality (AR). Processing is through a small computer on the soldier’s body. Mapping data and training management tools enable combat scenarios to be created and repetitions to be made where needed. This is said to give a greater range of training options than exercises on military ranges. The hardware is similar to the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binocular (ENVG-B) system, and IVAS will use thermal imaging but without the green tint seen in earlier NVG systems.
