What' s going on here? Kopin seems intent on burnishing their Military Credentials. A Helo Program for Blackhawk and Chinook for an HMD with their Brillian in it? Excuse me if I yawn. It looks the author was "on" to them knowing enough about eMagin's displays to call them out on their claim. Another angle. As the new restrictions kick in that produce higher scrutiny on export restrictions to China do they find themselves in a squeeze that limits their participation in that market necessitating flexing back to the good old USA? Just a note. CC flashed some jargon. The author was impressed that he used the phrase "Situational Awareness". I was more impressed when JL called IVAS, EyeVas, not IVAS as in MVIS...

Of course, when Maffucci referred to “emissive displays” he was talking about the current generation of high-brightness OLED microdisplays coming from companies like eMagin and suited for use in HMDs. When the next-generation of microLED microdisplays come along and are designed into HMDs, they are likely to have both higher brightness, higher contrast and longer life than even Kopin Brillian devices.
