Early Iterations. What good is IVAS if it's Sensors don't synch with Sharing Data in a "Unified Network"? Grateful that ENVG-B made it this far before the waters became muddy. "Growing Pains" is putting it mildly. The Sec of the Army is laying the groundwork for cuts to Programs to devote to Quality of Life for the Soldier and their Families. She's right addressing that. The Afghan debacle curtailed the "Pearl Harbor" Recruitment hook which compelled many to join the WOT, that is gone and they need a new approach. And if she is talking Modernization it's more likely new Barracks than new gear. BTW has she seen the price of Plywood these days?

The Army has made progress toward rapidly fielding systems, particularly those centered around soldiers, such as the Enhanced Night Vision-Goggles and early iterations of the Integrated Visual Augmentation Device — a heads-up display providing situational awareness and intelligence to soldiers throughout an operation.
