The author is almost there but not quite. The common thread through all these Programs is that each went through or are going through the same iterative process. ENVG-B, Ironvision, the F-35 Helmet, IVAS. The point made is the same, although not explicitly here, that Kris Kubasik made on L3/Harris last CC. Eventually ENVG-B and IVAS will be the same device with the Data Convergence in IVAS merged with the ruggedized platform (ENVG-B) that is spoken of so glowingly here. In a way they are dealing with the most difficult problem as Convergence21 is ongoing i.e. stitching together the Multi-Domain over distance while sifting Data to make it effective and intelligible to the Warfighters...

IVAS was a bold move seen as overly ambitious for use by infantry, and that proved to be the case. The army also underestimated the importance of the ENVG-B as a combat proven item that was adding more IVAS features one at a time while keeping all the existing ENVG-B gear operational. There’s no pause feature for troop training and combat demands.
