Once upon a time eMagin had an Analyst Day in New York. It was raining cats and dogs and I couldn't get a Cab so I walked from the Hotel. I was drenched. It was a sudden downpour that came out of a quickly darkening sky.
Ching Tang was there and seemed embarrassed by the Talk he was asked to give. It was general, OLED,blah blah, OLED blah blah, OLED, a smattering of applause.
Then Maleficent said a few words of Intro and Sculley took up the cudgel. Pretty boring. They had a little headset doohickey that was the usual Batman Cartoon. I have to say I singularly unimpressed by their earliest attempts and even Military stuff I saw left me cold. The first Thermal Night Vision NOD I tried was ENVG-I which was a Boat Anchor but you could see a development path forward which brings us to where we are today on the verge of IVAS and IVAS Next.
Nothing informative at Analyst Day until I got some Actionable Intelligence. Jerry C in chatting divulged he had to make another trip to Korea. It wasn't to have Fried Corgi or the Bulgogi. I knew instinctively where he was going.
So I settled in here to try and provide a Counter-Narrative that would see us to what looked like the Finish Line. And as the Finish Line approached with the New Line I thought we were home free.
I thought they would sell this thing to Samsung in time and sure enough they did for not the Dollars I anticipated all those years ago but for Chump Change. If you don't know who the Mark it is me.
And you could hear in Sculley's voice recently that there was disquiet. I thought something had gone wrong but I think he was feeling like Alcibiades making a secret deal with the Persians or Benedict Arnold giving the plans of West Point to the British. He knew what he was doing.
And none of us lived happily ever after.
