DoD contracts to combat degraded visual environments for SOCOM helo pilots

This is a Demonstration Project until 2017 but the last paragraph is interesting, I did not know this.  USAF SPEC OPS has already adopted the Elbit Brownout System for the Osprey. That HMD uses an eMagin Display.

"Companies known to have developed such DVE sensor systems include BAE Systems with its Brownout Landing Aid System Technology, Elbit Systems of America with its colour HMD system (already adopted by US Air Force Special Operations Command to equip crews of its Bell-Boeing CV-22 Osprey special mission tiltrotor), Goodrich with its TERPROM ground proximity warning system, and Lockheed Martin with its Pathfinder (based on its Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor)."
