US Air Force takes a look through Google Glass The military is testing the wearable’s use for combat situations, as well as building apps that could help soldiers on the battlefield.
Air Force Research Lab eh? AFRL spearheaded the push to integrate OLED Displays into the Tac-Eye line of devices then Vuzix, now Six15 Technologies. They will be prepared to tell Google what the deficiencies are in Glass for military applications,t.e.battery life, green glow, operating temperature. Especially in light of the fact that LCOS displays are now functionally obsolete for all new near-eye designs in the military. Be careful Himax people you might get what you wish for, the key word is "testing." The apps thing is what's important, the hardware will need to evolve as well. To much symbology in the Network for Google Glass to handle as currently constituted.
