As far as I know..

the only report in the public domain that states that Google is contemplating switching from Himax LCOS to OLED was Ron Mertens report (what a scoop) of a conversation with an "Industry Insider" that this was indeed the case. That report mentioned Microoled as the supplier but since then not a peep from Microoled or about Microoled. On the other hand Paul Campbell said in last evenings Conference Call that the public statements (sic) in the News by the best known HMD company (has to be Google) was that they want to switch to OLED. He said those reports about them are true. How does he know that?

Paul Campbell:

"Some of the timing relates to the -- what these companies want to do and the major wearable company that you would know today that’s very visible in the public, they’ve made statements that they want to switch their technology to OLED. This has been in the press and we believe it to be true."

My Assumption: Because  in discussions the potential customer has said that "They want an OLED solution."
