A number of eMagin Enabled Products Featured By the Defense Giants at AUSA

it's not quite as fun as when both Kopin and eMagin unrolled and hung their cheapo plastic signs. Kopin hasn't attended in 4 or 5 years and eMagin dropped out 3 years ago. But eMagin's products were very much in evidence. BAE said they would demo the RTA (FWS-I & ENVG III) but not today. On display but wired down. What you notice is the dramatic shrinking of the size of the devices. Previous generation, man they looked unwieldy. Now, the new Thermal Sight for FWS will fit into, with room to spare, the palm of your hand. JETS (Joint Effects Targeting System), same thing. very small, very light. Old days, General Dynamics early Targeting Systems required a tripod to hold and stabilize, these look like a large pair of Binocs. It's the same deal with JETS as with FWS-I and ENVG III, DRS and BAE have the contract for JETS and they use exclusively eMagin displays.
Elbit was showing the DJHMCS. Could not put it on but had a interactive that walked you thru the capabilities. Oh, everything. Global grids over Danger Zones, all the crucials of the helicopters, Day/Night. Targeting, Blue Force Tracking, Power Lines etc. No problem any DVE situation. A lot of color symbology. Would not bite on the Display resolution but WUXGA certainly. He did offer that they would be a near-term upgrade for the Apache and V-22. Too expensive, now to for local municipalities, Medic-Vacs etc. Rockwell had their new HMD IDVS, not much to glean from observing but like BAE's Q-Warrior it looks like a Wave Guide Optical System.
Imagine a Car Dealership with a Salesman who had not had a sale in a month and multiply that times 50 and you get a sense of Raytheon and sales team. They are scary. One every 5 sq feet. I cannot believe they need that large a sales force. Big and fat.
The thing I saw that advertised on Defense Weekly, a VR System from Photonis (I thought as they are a Kopin customer it might have been something they were trying out). Wrong. It was an HTC Vive demoing a new 4G NV System called INTENS.  FLIR was there with scores of devices, some oled, some LCD.
