Hello Nevin_s,
I suggested the military spin-off as a way to isolate Kopin’s supply arrangements from the expanded activity and joint ventures in China that the company is embarking on. The US military will likely insist on US only supply at some and as Kopin expands its JV activity in China they could be disqualified from bidding. They could remain an investor in the new company, but I think a degree of separation would be good. The sum of the parts would likely generate some additional value for shareholders.
Thanks
Derrick
