All seriousness aside....

One good thing, we have dispensed with the
"Nautical" Metaphors. You can't think about the SS eMagin without your brain flipping through Maritime disasters of yore, Andrea Doria, Spanish Armada, Persians at Salamis, Icebergs, Perfect Storms. My working theory is that it is the last. Their place in the popular imagination seems to be at Enron levels. Jim is very brave to have posted anything positive about the company and it's technology on Reddit. As soon as he does the long knives come out. Let's make these Reddit Trolls surrogates for the investing public.
What's the cause of this you might ask.

1. Their business is predominantly military related. This cuts deeply against Silicon Valley popularizers who have deep prejudices against military spending and "weapons of war."  Being a small military company makes it worse. They sell one component. As viewer said "All they do is sell altimeters to Boeing".

2. A history of false steps.

My Infinite Regression Theory. Every time they to have an open field to run to they trip and fumble. Electronic Viewfinder, Wire Bond, Consumer Night Vision. Their timing is impeccable. I think most blunders save the Wire Bond were shiny objects used to buy time for disgruntled investors.  The consequence of which lowers the interest of potential investors. Everybody now with any sense is from Missouri. Show me.

3. They did it backwards, of course! They evolved to being a "Stealth Company".
It was interesting to see it happen gradually and in a way the stumbles helped them accomplish it. PRs, currying interest from outsiders is not on the menu. What they guard most closely is the technology they sell to the military. From the Soldier Tech Conference I attended 11 years ago to the past AUSA Meeting in October you get major pushback with the most mundane of questions. You literally had to pass through 3 layers of security to look at L-3 ENVG-Bs and questions were met with blank stares.

4. AR/and VR has slid to the right as Malouf said. All the above will be rendered meaningless when they announce a name that sells stuff in a big box store.
The fact that this sector is emerging through Geologic Eons has worn down and eviscerated interest from any one who checks in even occasionally. See Brenda Rose's Tweet below. I need more coffee will add as many paragraphs as my fevered brain allows.
