I enjoyed this eNigmatic statement. Anybody conjure up a mental image of what he might mean? The "Thing (hardware) I saw and can't talk about". No eMagin, no Facebook. Sign here, you are sworn to silence. By process of elimination my guess would be a company as significant or more significant than Facebook in this field. We can include Meta in this construct maybe this happened before Zuck changed the name. I'll say it involved a Apple or Valve VR Headset with X Displays and something was communicated that could be understood to mean that the displays in this Headset, probably Sony, as good as they are, something better is on the way and it "makes me excited for eMagin"...

And that the forthcoming display is an upgrade over the display that both Sculley and General Seay has described in the past" as beautiful".

"The thing I saw and can’t talk about doesn’t involve eMagin or Facebook. But makes me excited for eMagin."

Well maybe it's more like a Wing Attack quietly building their attack with small pieces moving quietly into position. Present company not excluded.

That makes sense with Quest 2 doing so well. Their success might start at theLow End and Bubble Up and Apple will try and succeed to capture the High End and Trickle down

reading the Scoble A-B of the two I can't picture Apple not winning this joust. It's easy to see why Sculley can say that the Companies they are dealing with are more secretive than SOCOM because Apple seems to have a tight lid on their ambitions and Mr. Metaverse is trying to co-opt or pre-empt the competition with Beat Sabre and Investor presentations. To my mind Apple wins with a King's Gambit Opening.I read Carmack last couple talks and then these Tweet as evidence of discouragement.

Also the video shows how important being able to see through a "Brownout" is to safely completing the Mission...Elbit developed this technology because, you know, desert...

Scoble: Apple vs META

The META Variant...

You can't sell Om Om Om books being an unfunny whiner.

This is funny in an eManistani kind of way...can everybody picture what the next door is up the hall?

My Trifecta is a Apple/Valve/Google Box.

My fantasy is that everyone at eMagin thinks that Meta will be as corrosive as Facebook and told Zuck to take his robot ass out of here.

Having sung the praises of OLED in the past, what do you guys think? Could Meta be backing away or looking for a work around if the Tech is not available to them or too expensive or could this be disinformation? Just speculating...Thinking of BL's thought that Cambria will have MiniLED

JC also does some Defense work.

Have I mentioned JC's deck is next to the CEOs? Yes, I have ad nauseum. The quiet guy in the corner is the one you have to worry about.

Man, it's like he found eMagin/Valve/Apple Playbook somebody left on the counter at the Diner.

ENVG-B Goggle | L3Harris (Chris Spbiz, IVAS like ENVG-B has Rapid Target Acquisition, is a Day/Night Sight like IVAS, is Thermal and categorized by the DoD as a Night Vision Device capable of Augmented Reality like ENVG-B. Both Elbit and L3 have said in public that they are working with the Program Exec to Field IVAS. They are using the same design philosophy as ENVG-B i.e. Soldier Touchpoints and Rapid Iteration. You contention that the Army would never change because something happened years ago Blah blah and would not take advantage of advances in technology is ludicrous on its face. and as long as we're doing shoutouts to nincompoops zoolers it looks like China is not the Golden Goose that you constantly harp on as Kopin's Promised Land...Why has Investment in China OLED Microdisplay collapsed? In a word because they suck...

#6 More Than $2 Billion Investment in OLED Microdisplays for AR/VR - WRONG

While AR/VR has emerged as one of the hottest topics of the year, and while OLED microdisplays appear to have an inside track to win this application, we got a little ahead of ourselves with this prediction. We had predicted a high level of investment in OLED microdisplay based on some aggressive plans by companies in China.

Several of these investments were delayed or cancelled in 2021, and we estimate investment in OLED microdisplay to total $258M this year, with the largest investment coming from XUS, $191M for a 12-inch R&D facility in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China. One significant plan by Ever Vivid for more than $500M for a phase 2 12-inch line was delayed to 2022 and may be questionable even next year.

Despite more modest investment levels in 2021, we continue to expect substantial investment and growth in OLED microdisplays, based on several public statements:

  • Meta (Facebook) said in October that it expected its investment in its hardware division, Facebook Reality Labs, to reduce overall operating profit in 2021 by approximately $10 billion. It is unclear how much of this investment was in display technologies (including Micro OLED), but we can assume it was a sizeable portion.
  • Sony is still expected to supply Micro OLED displays for the Apple headset, but we hear that production of the displays has been pushed to the first half of 2022.
  • Sidtek recently announced groundbreaking for a 12-inch plant with monthly input of 18K wafers, capable of making 4M displays per year.

FYI Geoffrey Porter and the rest of the MVIS/Benzinga Morons out there. Microvision has not received a red cent from the US Government for over 12 years. They are not in IVAS and have never participated in a Program of Record.

eMagin, on the other hand co-developed the Display that has been the foundational tech that is in and will be in ENVG-B and IVAS and the vast majority of Near-Eye-Displays. But Benzinga, big authority, wow, none of them were ever late to a MENSA Meeting. But keep barking up that tree it will vastly increase the schadenfreude!

I can't be the only one who remembers the CC when Sculley threw Ice Water on the infamous "pull". It must have been Valve and their desire to wait for the 4kx4k that provoked that. It's good to hear they meet regularly.

eMagin inside Elbit's most advanced HMDs.

This seems germane, Sculley has alluded to timelines that would be moved up "if" a line was being built at present. Words to that effect. Speculating...

APS + eMagin Synergies | DSCC AR/VR Conference November 2021

They got the "competitor" part wrong...Synergies? Synergies, I'm sure there are Synergies"...

The Korean version of that article says eMagin is a competitor.

"Regarding the development of FMM for micro OLED, APS Holdings is known to be cooperating with overseas IT giants such as Apple. Although the microdisplay market using micro OLED has not yet blossomed, major IT giants such as Apple, Meta (formerly Facebook), Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have all jumped into technology development. In the field of FMM for micro OLED, APS Holdings' competitors are expected to be US eMagin and others. eMagine is also known to be working with Apple."

Todd South sends eMagin a Xmas Card. Coal in your stocking too LBS and the Screen Door Effect. Hasta La Vista Diffractive Waveguide! LBS people's Christmas Goose was cooked after Touchpoint 2...

What was happening was the heads-up displays were showing a kind of “screen door effect” where the image resolution had a grid-like view.

Current vision devices offer about a 40-degree field-of-view for night vision or thermal sites. The new goal sought to double that to 80 degrees.

No eMan content but maybe a new market opening as Japan prepares to expand their Pacifist Post-WWII Constitution to allow for a more robust military. China says "Our new Super-Carriers will dominate the South China Sea and Blue Water Pacific!" Japan says "You keep building em and we'll have plenty of Hypersonics to sink them."

The Army is including "Helicopter" and "Vertical Lift"/Tilt Rotor, Attack and Reconnaissance" in the same breath. Elbit X-Sight and eMagin Displays make it go and provide the crucial link to MDO..

You're doing great Jared. Keep it up.

It had to be you David, great Q, great timing Detective.

Brad informs us we are headed to the Medal Round, favored for the Gold...

I'm no stranger to speculation so I decipher Sculley's Shadow Talk at the end "There's synergies between us, I'm sure of that"...Sculley looks like the Cat who swallowed the canary. "We chatted a while back but because of the pandemic we've been separated a long time". Spec on my part, taking into the account smiles and laughter all around they are finished talking and have entered a new phase.

APS + eMagin Synergies | DSCC AR/VR Conference November 2021 (Big Fun, Thanks Brad, APS laugh is telling, a somewhat nervous laugh informed by understatement and "oh you caught us. The Columbo, "Oh wait, just more question".)

They borrowed this concept from Ralph Osterhout. It's a little cringe that toys are seen as prototypes for weapons but that's the world we live in. Everybody had a deck of cards where Saddam is the Ace of Spades right? eMagin inside the ENVG-B a very expensive toy.

Who's the Bozo who posts "Blaze the Night' all the time? The guy that went to Shot Show expecting to see hordes surrounding the Blaze Booth? Many moves this company makes are a feint or a creative failure and that was a good one. Like eMagin had no idea how to get where they are going.

100% eMagin Inside, Battery Management and the need to continue Iterative Improvements required before the funds are let out of the corral. But I stand by my contention that"Blaze the Night" was the first prototype of IVAS, Digital & Thermal Night Vision "are both available at the press of a button" just like my funky Blaze Torch.

The bill would fence off about a quarter of billion dollars from the $1.1 billion the Army wants to spend on IVAS until the service can provide Congress with a report on the program.

That report would be due 60 days after the bill becomes law and require a plan to ensure IVAS’s battery management system meets planned requirements, a strategy including critical milestones for 3D geospatial data and a plan for iterative improvements to sensors and software throughout the procurement of the system. Congress also wants certification that working components of the program are in order.

“The IVAS prototype heads up display packs a variety of impressive capabilities into one package. Night vision and thermal scope settings are both available at the press of a button,” an Army release states. “Soldiers can share topographical imagery or 3D maps of an objective at any time, whether rehearsing or in the field. A soldier can pair the IVAS to a weapon, enabling the weapon to be aimed using a reticle projected into their field of vision rather than holding it at the shoulder and peering through the scope. All members of a platoon can know where all of their teammates are at a given time, no matter how dark or dense the surrounding terrain.”

BL "OLED Microdisplays, manufacturable very soon".

It's the quiet guy in the corner you have to worry about..."Billions"? That's pretty aspirational. Could this have anything to do with the guy who left eMagin who fixed the F-35 and put together Ironvision and now has a desk next to Google's CEO??

I thought Brad's finest moment when he was asked if he had tried a better headset whereupon he did that bemused gaze straight into the camera which means " I can't say but I'd like too".

Can somebody check on Derrick? He hasn't spammed Twitter for over 15 hours since he re-Tweeted Scoble .Worrisome it's usually every 15 minutes...The "Kopin is Coping" thing was hilarious.. I wonder if he was recalled to HQ for a dressing down?

At the company level it appears to be META vs Apple et al. On the Geo-Political Level it appears to be the West and I'll include Korea in that equation vs China. A good way to pull the rug out from under the CCP is to dominate the next Global Mega-Trend in Transparent, Flexible and Micro OLED Displays. That would be a huge boost for certain National Economies.

Korea's display makers currently lead the global market in organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) displays, but they have been growing increasingly alarmed by how fast Chinese rivals have caught up in terms of technology.

They worry that they may lose their competitive edge in OLED technology, which is what happened with liquid crystal displays (LCD), where Chinese players now account for close to 60 percent of the global market share. Korean display makers are eyeing the timing of exiting the LCD market, given their profitability has deteriorated due to Chinese players that offer the panels at lower prices.

OLEDs are considered as the next-generation display, because the panels are thinner, lighter and show improved picture quality compared to LCDs.

Anybody NOT able to think about an acquisition last night? I know I couldn't and what bordered on a nightmare was Meta doing what Guttag said "Big companies seeking to corner the market". I'm sticking with "All of them" with the caveat that as Don always says "It's up to Mort'.

If Mort wants to kick off a "Bidding War" who are we to object? If he wanted to use the "Mystery Company" as a foil to spur interest, speed things along, to drive a harder bargain that would be shrewd on his part. It finally looks like we might actually have some leverage after years of being a doormat. BL stating Facebook as being terrified of the "Thing from Cupertino" is a good way to imagine this scenario unfolding.  This is fun.

Guttag is working on the UI for IVAS unlikely he'll be able to talk OLED unless in the most circumspect way possible.

"shooting from the hip" is an ENVG-B capability in other words IVAS is ENVG-B without the Intensifier Tubes

If you want to get wonky on IVAS this is a great listen. John Ferrari talks IVAS. An anecdote about IVAS. The "how-to shoot your rifle" in the Manual was not updated to accommodate the IVAS System. So a soldier spent some time on the range with IVAS and in a half hour figured out "how to" and the how to was not to raise the rifle to the shoulder but he couldn't miss shooting from the hip. In other words IVAS integrates RTA just like ENVG-B "shooting around corners". Talks about IVAS interchangeably with Ironvision (an Elbit System). Bit of a wrangle with the Navy as they seem more interested in a device for Maintenance and Repair like Google Glass.

Just a reminder of the depth of delusion and ignorance on constant display by the MVIS Mafiosi. A person of normal intelligence sees "Microsoft", the Mafiosi see "Microvision", nowhere to be found in the article. 2stupid cites this article leading others to believe that Microvision is somehow involved with fabricating of Advanced Chips for the Department of Defense...The DoD has bestowed large Grants on eMagin with more in the future for developing and manufacturing Advanced Displays. Not a red cent to MVIS for eleven years...

Wasn't the Mafia floating a rumor that Samsung was working with Microsoft on IVAS?

Doesn't Bob's DD on the Samsung, Microsoft, LG, Apple "Consortium" working on uOLED on Silicon gives that rumor a new savor?

I see some eMagin pals here:

The second phase will see these entities develop custom integrated chips and System on a Chip (SoC) with "lower power consumption, improved performance, reduced physical size, and improved reliability for application in DoD systems."

Collaborators on this ambitious project include Ansys, Applied Materials, Inc., BAE Systems, Battelle Memorial Institute, Cadence Design Systems, Cliosoft, Inc., Flex Logix, GlobalFoundries, Intel Federal, Raytheon Intelligence and Space, Siemens EDA, Synopsys, Inc., Tortuga Logic, and Zero ASIC Corporation. However, little detail was revealed on how these new chips will work and what exactly they would consist of.

Way to go Bob, you've earned that Pulitzer. Time for some Merch, Psycho Bob Tumblers and Shot Glasses...

As somebody used to say a Six-Pack on your porch for this insight OTR. Much appreciated.

We shall see. Pretty happy to buy at levels around 2X the DoD grant for the new dPd production line. That is pretty insane value to me regardless of any further dips before that value is recognized.

The niggling thought always returns that they can't seem to get through a Quarter without "unexpected tool downtime". The Supply Chain is constrained enough without complicating delivery schedules, material supply etc and I have a hard time believing as their military biz accelerates that it will work itself out. If they have to meet the demand of a growing backlog maybe the Kaizen Method will work out kinks and the new Engineer and Salterelli will have the Spare Parts and voluntary salary cuts will finally get them to a profitable Quarter...

What we know that's in the Pipeline seems to be outsized to what they are capable of in delivering finished goods. Apropos of nothing except they need help from a Prime, another Line somewhere, mo Fed money. They are still haunting the Halls of Congress lobbying for "All legislation and provisions related to Advanced Displays". Kopin hasn't had to file a Lobbying Disclosure-2 since 2009 and  they supply a few PORs and eMagin has to hire the top defense Lobbyists on K Street to pull on lapels. Any chance these become perfunctory anytime soon? How many PORs do you have to supply before you don't have to take a Congress Critter to Mastro's for Lunch? I don't think being in over 20 Programs of Record is Chopped Liver.

If you watched the I/ITSEC Panel on IVAS and SiVT you will recall General Buriss said "First and Foremost IVAS is a Night Vision Goggle". DNVT could be previously mentioned "IVAS Lite" or something new. In any eventuality it will have eMagin displays.

DNVT provides fully digital, Night Vision Devices (NVD) coupled with component technology enhancements including fused visible through long wave infrared (LWIR) imagers, reconfigurable full color displays with high resolution and brightness, and image processing hardware and algorithms to enable enhanced augmented reality (AR) through an open standards network for improved Situational Awareness (SA) and targeting.

DNVT, lets see what company provides displays for Digital Night Vision...hmm...what do you think...maybe the Armed Services would like something with High Brightness, low SWAP, already tied into the Military Industrial Base...

IVAS is ENVG-B without the Intensifier Tubes i.e. Heavy Optics...

“We don’t perceive distance with one eye, we just see larger or smaller - but if I can put it in both eyes I can get the object in 3D," Jette said. "To do that I need to have the sensing system to know where the eye is looking and focusing. The IVAS does that. It determines what you are looking at and what type of object you are looking at and focusing on to generate a 3D image in front of you. The good part about this is I don’t need all those heavy optics on my face."

I'm not sure that Israel is even one beat behind the US in fielding their Soldier Suite with an eye towards the Multi-Domain and Combined Arms. They have the advantage of a small military and not have to worry about integrating X number of languages etc. into their System. THE PDA the soldier is looking at in the image is what the US calls Nett Warrior, the shared data system matured between Land Warrior and ENVG-B/IVAS. As the US developing was developing those Elbit was developing Torch, Raptor and Smarteye (digital night vision) which is the equivalent of IVAS. I'll say because of the more manageable size of the task before them, smaller numbers, no "tyranny of distance" etc. Israel may even be ahead on the Tech side. Follow the Link to Torch if you want to see how they stitch their Mini-MDO together...

Brad when you're the first one in Indian Country you have to expect some arrows...Welcome to eManistan...

Army Training Mission at I/ITSEC 2021 (The mafia can believe what they want, they obviously need a sustaining myth in order to keep their True Believers believing. General Buriss Commandant of the Maneuver Center at Fort Benning introduces ENVG-B as a success in terms of speed to fielding and ties it in his comments to IVAS which is undergoing the same rapid Iteration that allowed it to be Tested at Convergence 21 in Yuma AZ. They tested it when the Sun was brightest and highest in the sky and they were all around pleased that the IVAS was usable in daylight. He added that ENVG-B was used by the 82nd Airborne (sorry ENVG-B had it's first real Test when the 82nd was deployed to handle the Perimeter at Hamid Karzai (no comment), anyway for their part it worked and they also did Mission Rehearsal for that deployment with it ,so SiVT is a thing now. It's a good listen. I don't expect the Mafia to get anything of it, they'll be scanning the assembled for Army Coffee Cups. Anyway, eMagin is IVAS, rest your pretty little heads...

As someone who is loose in his communication abilities I'll concede he can fly out of a stable orbit from time to time.

Lady Mavis, Microvision, MVIS Morning Brief...

Karl Guttag , KGOnTech - Dec 7 2021 (yesterday): In the world of AR “scams”, the $3.5 Billion (over 2.5 times Theranos’s $1.3B) into the Magic Leap has to be right at the top. The other contender would have to be Microvision. They have lost about
$600M plus about $90M US government money from an “earmark” pushed through by a US Senator they later put on their board. Microvision went from a low of about 20 cents a share to a high of about $28 per share and a market cap over $3B in less than a year based on hyping their Lidar which people who know Lidar tell me is nothing special, yet no profitable deals have been announced and the company continues to lose about $1M per month and some months much more. The product of Microvision seems to be selling stock.

Since L3/Harris is an ENVG-B and IVAS Vendor we can look for the Australia Defense Force to appropriate those Technologies into their contribution to the Multi-Domain...

Hopefully John Wick can get to Zuckerberg before he gets to the Continental...

Speaking of things not usable in High Light Situations...Sorry/Not Sorry Westborough. The Military is more like a "Sugar Cousin" now Doc...

High Brightness Reticle usable as a Day Optic/Thermal Imaging like ENVG-B will have an eMagin Display Inside.

XTRAIM is a fully integrated sight for daylight operations, combining a reflex red-dot sight with thermal imaging technology to pick out targets from the background (decamouflage function). The high brightness of the reticle in the red-dot sight makes it possible to identify and engage targets even in bright sunlight.

For night-time operations, XTRAIM is compatible with all types of night vision goggles. In this configuration, the infrared images from the weapon sight are superimposed on the images from the light-intensification tubes in the goggles to deliver an unprecedented target decamouflage capability in low-light conditions.

The Xtraim cites "Soldier Centric Design". Where have we heard that before? As early adopters of forward leaning (excuse the expression) the French led the way with their FELIN Suite which really saved eMagin's bacon at a critical time. No surprise they with Israel would be first with their own take on these systems while using eMagin OLED Displays.

Say Om, Om, Om, Om, Om you'll feel better in no time.

It's not ENVG-B but shares some capabilities..it's a TWS.

Thales supplying the French Army with their own ENVG-B. Thales is a longtime customer, full outline mode, collaborative, full IR, see in total darkness ...One half of eMagin's Military Biz is overseas...

Talking Arpara

Brad is on the YMB. Anybody remember the two-week stint of eMagin Tech on Reddit? I can think of a fine replacement if eMagin wants to take the rubber band off the bankroll.

He has OLED Microdisplay Tees back in stock.

I'm too lazy to dig up the numbers but I think the Navy+Marine Corps is just about the same as the USAF plus or minus a few. So near term eMagin appears to get half the new helmets and if you include Allies with significant Carrier programs you have the U.K., Australia, Japan, Italy, Brazil, India and then the nations with one like Denmark and Spain that try to keep one in Service I'm sure they would appreciate the upgrade...

Like the article said the Conventional Take-Off and Landing guys would like to able to re-fuel regardless of conditions. I don't know if they want to persist with Kopin in the A Variant for the foreseeable future but half of the Helmets going to eMagin/OLED would be a jolt to K's revenue and prestige and have a salubrious effect on us.  It would steal Kopin's opening line about the "Most sophisticated AR Device in the blah, blah, blah". Question Doc are still taking an F-35 Helmet to CES? Maybe a Consumer version you can sell out of Sky Mall would work.

I think the sole supplier tagline Kopin trundles out is about to end given the info the Air Force Times. Why the was it in the AF Times and not in the Marine Corps Times?

We can't forget the Pilots in the Fighting Falcon and Super Hornet among others in the Squadrons want the good stuff too.

I think Guttag's assertion that $MVIS/Microvision is in the scam Hall-of-Fame along with scam stalwarts Theranos and Magic Leap is really something that MAVIS Cultists can hang their Dunce Cap on!

"WE'RE NUMBER 3! WE'RE NUMBER 3..."

In a crowded or Network deprived environment this Data Convergence stuff looks like it's own worst enemy. Got to do a lot of crawling before they can run. Lesson learned " A Picture is worth a Thousand Data Points", ability to read text, coherent Symbology, being able to communicate with a translator to our Allies, That conclusion is good for us who can "do" Streaming Video and Text...

During Project Convergence, military services found that passing large amounts of data from disparate systems led to inefficiencies. Bottlenecks from excess data that wasn’t critical to the mission caused compromises in picture quality and jammed networks with limited bandwidth. Military leaders questioned if these emerging technologies would clog the network and slow it down rather than accelerate mission success. Travis Thompson, deputy director for the Soldier Lethality-CFT, posed an important question regarding the high bandwidth that augmented reality video often demands: “Was that more valuable than just a picture? A picture in many cases did the exact same thing, it could go through at a higher resolution, inform the decision better.”

But if they ever have to land in similar conditions everyone involved will be consoled by Dr. Fan's statement that "The Military is Kopin's Sugar Daddy".

Great BK...Help is on the way for the NAVY and USMC...Hope none of the Flyboys ever need to land on a floating island at night in a monsoon with damage while requiring re-fueling...

The instructor pilot tilted his head up and peered under the green glow to get a better view of the other airman’s problem. A few minutes later, he got the “leans” — an illusion where a pilot tilts under the impression that their plane is not level — only to lose sight of the tanker to the left.

After the Navy and Marine Corps began fighting the light while trying to land on aircraft carriers at night, the F-35 program bought 124 OLED helmets that promised to end the problem for the two services.

The Air Force did not prioritize a need for OLED night vision, and so was left out of the purchase, Joint Program Office spokesperson Laura Seal said.

The NDAA 2022 is withholding another 25% of IVAS funding until the Army reports to Congress on the devices functionality and Operational Capability.

The other Guttag thing there Porter is would anybody working on IVAS go into their development work, I don't think I'm exaggerating, despising a certain company and Tech and have to go to the Office and try to to make it usable? KG can be weirdo but I don't think he's crazy. That would be like a strict Vegan working the line in an abattoir. The LiDAR slam is a Bonus as Zielier would say...

They have lost about $600M plus about $90M US government money from an “earmark” pushed through by a US Senator they later put on their board.

Just a fun read...

Chris Wood: Longtime readers may recognize the name Kopin (KOPN). It’s a small company that builds and supplies microdisplays to big players. Kopin’s tech is used in most major headsets… from the RealWear HMT-1Z1 to the Toshiba dynaEdge. Google even relies on Kopin for its Google Glass Enterprise 2 headset. Remember, Google is not as vertically integrated as Apple. It needs Kopin to make these AR glasses.

Chris R: To be clear, Kopin is not a “buy” today. Your Project 5X readers have already cashed out for a 399% gain. Do you like any other AR microcaps today?

Chris Wood: We were happy to book a big win in Kopin. But then late last year, something even better came across my radar: eMagin (EMAN). EMagin has more advanced microdisplay tech than Kopin. One that’s solving a huge problem in the industry.

Check this out Porter. RAVN, four guys renting an Apartment in San Francisco advanced their work to SBIR Phase II and have received over a Million Bucks from the Feds this year. Do I have to say it?, for a Head-Worn Display

Microvision

RAVN

Anybody who looks at this and says "Oh yeah, Microvision has the inside track on this IVAS stuff" needs a check-up from the neck-up.

Adam I admire you examination of Zielier. He doesn't budge, ever, he's on the case but I'm glad he has some new OLED Buzzwords to throw around, must have gotten some dispatches from HQ

Kou's article was confusing he mentioned "Media Reports" of eMagin working with Apple on a AR/VR Device but Apple would obtain 4kx4k Displays from Sony. It's a grab bag of possible observations, alliances and technologies. Let's not miss the Forest for all those trees. OLED Microdisplays are finally coming into their own in terms of the quality of the Tech and gaining (at last) some public notoriety. It's a new game and we are in it.

There seemed to be a change in sentiment spawned by this Tweet which mentions Sony, eMagin, Apple, TSMC everything but the Kitchen Sink. I wasn't literal just noting the change it seemed to bring about. No worries.

Snoop, the MAVIS Morons attacks in swarms. They attacked Tony Rogers when he pointed out LBS deficiencies, they attack Guttag relentlessly for the same, they attacked Brad Lynch (SadlyitsBradley) in his Twitter DMs. It really is a case of MVIS Psychosis.

Saying anything about their "there's no there there" company and they're all over you like maggots. They feel it slipping away.

Mavis Mutts employ a number of rhetorical devices, non sequiturs, self-contradictory statements, outright lies, deflection, they know the drill. And I hope nobody reads this and thinks I am picking on the slow or disabled but it does feel like it sometimes.

A couple of doozies today, Spbiz equates the $39 Million eMagin is receiving to upgrade their Manufacturing line for Production of Direct Patterned Displays with the Contracted payments to Microsoft for IVAS over the coming years. There is no correlation between these situations. I'll add that Microvision has not been the recipient of one dollar from the Government for over eleven years, the last payment being for a Phase I SBIR which never went anywhere. Microvision has never made it past Phase I to Phase II much less to an STTR which is the Tech Transfer to join a successful company's work with a Research Institute meant to mature that Technology for, in these cases, the Department of Defense. Here Spbiz trying to type something coherent and fails:

"A $33 Million Dollar Contract, the military paid Microsoft how much once again?"

If you can't grasp that Microsoft and Microvision are not the same entity even though they both share "Micro"  as the first two syllables in their name it is very tough to advance the discussion. The Microsoft IVAS Liasion has stated publicly, "We know AI and Data and the Army knows how to build a Night Vision Goggle".

Geoffrey Porter's turn. In light of the above that Microvision has never Qualified a Display or Device for use by the Department of Defense, in spite of that Porter insists that Karl Guttag will drag himself to Porter's front door and sob his apologies that he was wrong about Microvision/LBS in IVAS.

Porter says. "He will be eating crow in a few months".

OK so Guttag has a paying job as the CTO for a small shop called "RAVN" which is a start-up run by a couple of retired Special Forces guys who hired Kuttag to be their CTO and that is where he is now.

RAVN has been tasked with developing a User Interface for the most sophisticated Night Vision/Data Sharing Device in history and in that capacity his work is Classified Top Secret same as anyone involved with IVAS he has signed an NDA. I'm going to try to make as simple as possible:

GUTTAG CANNOT UTTER ONE WORD ABOUT ANY COMPANY AND THEIR WORK OR EVEN MENTION THEIR NAME/PARTICIPATION TO ANYONE AT ANYTIME AND IF HE DID HE WOULD JEOPARDIZE RAVN'S WORK ON IVAS.

HE TOOK THE TIME ON HIS BLOG YESTERDAY TO SAY THIS ABOUT MICROVISION BELOW...HE HAD NO COMPUNCTION ABOUT MENTIONING MICROVISION ANY NUMBER OF TIMES ON HIS BLOG. THEREFORE THE ANSWER PORTER MICROVISION HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH IVAS.

The other contender would have to be Microvision. They have lost about $600M plus about $90M US government money from an “earmark” pushed through by a US Senator they later put on their board. Microvision went from a low of about 20 cents a share to a high of about $28 per share and a market cap over $3B in less than a year based on hyping their Lidar which people who know Lidar tell me is nothing special, yet no profitable deals have been announced and the company continues to lose about $1M

As Brad crawls out further and further on the eMagin Branch we have to ask ourselves "Can it hold him?", "What does he stand to lose if he's wrong?", Credibility, the respect of his peers, more lucrative job prospects but he doesn't seem worried in the least. How come?

The good news, back in stock, the bad news...Inflation has hit the OLED Microdisplay Tee-Shirt Market. Up .50 cents.

New People, if you would listen to Sri Peruvemba talk about the Microdisplay Market...

Dr. John explains how hard things are to a dozen or so Kopin Employees. Note the thunderous applause that greets him.

5 Rules! Fan is an expert on explaining how hard it is to accomplish the stuff that other people are accomplishing!

How rude! We've labored in obscurity but welcome our new Overlord!

If you held two Aces and flopped another Ace could you win?

Wow...Good Morning Everybody

2017 when Matt Miesnieks spilled the beans. Then it seemed possible now it seems close to a metaphysical certainty......

A high-res OLED microdisplay from e-magin, suitable for a HMD (or a Watch). The image is projected into the waveguide which spreads it over the plastic lens in the glasses so you can see it in front of your face.

Kuo

Don't be intimidated by that little punk spibz. He has multiple IDs and started life at as Stonks Ape touting Lady Mavis/IVAS and he knows Jack Shit about IVAS. In fact any time you corner him about any Mavis/IVAS connection he starts crying like a panty waist. His M.O is to start screaming for Geoffrey Porter when he's in over his head and that's a dead giveaway because Porter is a complete dolt on Military and Acquisition and Practices,Trajectory of the Program, Budget Process, knows nothing about how DC works. Just a couple of monkeys throwing shit at anybody walking nearby. You can throw Chris333/2Stupid into that mix, he tries to pull the same crap.

They are terrified of not being in IVAS which equates to not being Hololens which equates to having to pump the achingly boring Auto LIDAR Vertical.

Speaking of Dual-Use, that reminds me zooler did K ever supply all the paperwork required by ITAR for the displays you guys shipped to Luxembourg but ended up in Belarus in Thermal Weapon Sights? Asking for a friend.

Hedge Trade?????? What? Nothing prevents LG from making OLED Microdisplays . The displays won't be MilSpec and that IP qualifies for export under EAR99, a State Department designation for Consumer Use.

Don't get out over your skis.

Mikko, at this juncture Elbit Systems is eMagin's largest customer, their relationship pre-dates alll the LG stuff we are seeing now but I like your thinking.

Zooler playing the "Argument from Authority" Card is a hoot. Urging BL to check out his "Bonus Interview" with the King of Microdisplays!, an expert on what doesn't work.

Flip, I sure get it about tempering expectations after grabbing a bare electrical wire for years, too good to be true, we are conditioned to failure but I have a feeling you are going to have to pull the cork on that Pappy Van Winkle one of these days.

Great point Manderson. I did not catch the nuance that Valve contacted Brad words to the effect "Where did you get all this? is somebody at Valve leaking this to you", is an affirmation that what he has been saying is accurate and true. You guys are doing great

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Zooler VS BL. We are just going have to declare Brad Lynch Emperor of eManistan by acclimation!

What do you guys think? Has 4K War broken out between LG/eMagin and Sony and in which case does this make Sony a competitor or eMagin is an Arms Dealer supplying IP to both and may the best Company win?

"Lg stands to benefit", ahem, among others.

Oh boy...things are poppin'

Are the Lady MAVIS Mafiosi as dumb as they are humorless or humorless as they are dumb?

On-Line Bromance brewing...

Don't shoot your toe off. Adjust your sights down-range. That is all.

LOL! I think I know why he said this... In Fan Voice "The Amy is our Shugah Daddy". Any port in a storm, right CC?

BL liked Scoble's Tweet.

Thanks Gremm, this is fantastic! How do you get around an NDA Mr. Scoble? By saying "Everyone" instead of "anyone"? Nicely played. Spider Sense tingling big time...

Looking at you John Fan and your China Dreams...

Mr. Onbowstring, your Naïveté is charming but you are more likely to get a response from Santa Claus per your request for a Pony and get a response "Consider it done young man!"

I wonder what the estimable Mort Sackler thinks of all this. If it discomfits him I approve.

There is virtually (ha ha) no pushback on BL's video, a little carping, a little pushback from anti-apple types. a little whataboutism but nothing to dent his strong circumstantial case...

He displays such a degree of "knowing" that it's hard to make the case that he has not been allowed a peek behind the curtain.
